All Reagan, All The Time

Quote Me From Your Leader

Google’s scrappy Android phone system doesn’t pull the babes like Apple’s IPhone, although some claim it will win in the end.

Until then, Android users pining for that Reagan touch must make do with less than glamorous apps.

While IPhone users revel in the splendor of an official Reagan Library endorsed IReagan app, droid-ists must make do with the new Ronald Reagan random quote function.

The swank factor is not increased just because the app “Comes with several backgrounds.

And if your fount of wisdom is to be thirty years old wouldn’t you at least like a search function?

Additional  delight may be found with the Ronald Reagan CallClip, which pops up random photographs of our leader.

IReagan has been embraced by clowns of all ages, such as FoxNews goofball Adam Housley.    image_area  In his hard-hitting report, Adam spouts “facts” of no known origin. Tie urgently eskew,  he claims that the just introduced IReagan is “the first politician to have an app,” news certain to be of interest to Barack Obama. Go Obama

If you embrace Reagan and IPhone, but reject Big Library’s IReagan, the for-profit sector has stepped into the breach.

Shake it ’till you make it happen with this

…or enjoy more random Reagan with this app

Or full-throttle full length Reagan speeches from yesteryear can be had here, divided into three separate eras in chewable $.99 portions.

George W. Bush: Big Talker

Your Results May Vary

Thoughtful readers of sprightly Internet phenom Talking Points Memo reacted in horror today to the display ad which popped up on some screens.

Continuing the Go-It_Alone, maverick-y before it was cool ways that endeared him to a nation, the George W. Bush Presidential Library bought space on the liberal bastion, reaching out to a new generation.

Ronald Reagan: Saints Preserve Us!

Hallowed Be Thy Name http://williamjkelly.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/reagan-plane-1.jpg

Having already made Ronald Reagan the equivalent of  Roman emperor, Republicans may go the next logical step and proclaim him a god.

A resolution proposed for the Republican National Committee Winter Meeting attempts to tie Republican candidates to a series of  ten conditions.  Reagan’s name is evoked five times in his role as prophet, role-model and seer, with pols instructed to agree or be gone.

Parties have a long history of demarcating the in and the out, with mixed outcomes.

Lenin laid down the law in the Communist International with “The Twenty One Conditions.”

Rougueing Reagan

The Shadow Knows   http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_JQPcoXxz0dM/Stu14F4xDUI/AAAAAAAAArM/v5Hr0kB9KOg/s320/PalinReagan.jpg

As a curious world awaits Sarah Palin’s looming Oprah encounter, tiny shards  of her upcoming polemic are emerging.

For all her roguishness, the Governor follows a predicable political path, lying about Ronald Reagan. http://blogs.usatoday.com/.a/6a00d83451b46269e20120a4e0ef0c970b-pi

The Associated Press prepared a catalog of her detachments from reality, and her Reagan claims are true to the spirit of the man, in that she confidently proffers demonstrably falsehoods with a smile.

Palin: Says Ronald Reagan faced an even worse recession than the one that appears to be ending now, and ”showed us how to get out of one. If you want real job growth, cut capital gains taxes and slay the death tax once and for all.”

THE FACTS: The estate tax, which some call the death tax, was not repealed under Reagan and capital gains taxes are lower now than when Reagan was president.

Economists overwhelmingly say the current recession is far worse. The recession Reagan faced lasted for 16 months; this one is in its 23rd month. The recession of the early 1980s did not have a financial meltdown. Unemployment peaked at 10.8 percent, worse than the October 2009 high of 10.2 percent, but the jobless rate is still expected to climb.
