Reagan Road Rage
Indiana’s Ronald Reagan Parkway, the little road that might not, continues to face funding troubles.
The highway is being built piecemeal, with locals making up the financing as they go along.
Plainfield Indiana is stuck. The Indianapolis Star reports they may turn to big government for help:
“The dollars are drying up,” said Plainfield Town Council member Bill Kirchoff, a representative from the town to the countywide task force. In an era of taxpayer unrest, he said, “I would say this is not the time to be talking about more from property taxes.”A more likely scenario, according to several members of the group, is to continue seeking federal aid to pay for sections of the new roadway.”
