The Obama campaign has gotten a pretty good run on versions of “Mitt Romney is entitled to his own views; he’s not entitled to his own facts.”
Now they’re having their own troubles.
Not yet online, conventioneers enjoyed Democrats’ salute to their saluting veterans, featuring a clip of Obama speaking at the Vietnam Memorial. Â Obama famously sneered that he wasn’t interested in re-fighting the Culture Wars, but this time he enlisted in one of its stupidest battles. Â He endorsed the myth of the dissed Vietnam Veteran, hatred and disrespect epitomised by Rambo’s airport spitting scene.
 A story based on no facts.
One of the weaker moments in Obama’s apology tour of American right wing myths, based on epic after the fact persecution fantasies.
We can only hope America’s newly minted fact checker armies will look under this particular rock.
